StorageCraft is looking for top performing Test Engineers to test and improve our class leading products. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic test engineer who wants to make a difference within a successful, growing company. We desire to promote or hire an outstanding engineer, who knows how to debug software and find solutions to help our customers better manage their back-up and restore storage solutions. We need an experienced, motivated self-starter that can help lead within our test group. StorageCraft is serious about ensuring the products we release are of the highest quality and this Test Engineer is a critical role within our company.

This Quality Software QA Engineer will focus on debugging and testing software products to ensure quality of product.

Tester will also:
• Work as an integral part of the engineering software QA team to debug, design and develop great products.
• Manage performance test Windows and Web applications, Linux is a plus!
• Security test all Windows and web applications
• Generate automated functional and load test scripts
• Manage the generation of manual test scripts and plans
• Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) analysis and calibrations, assist marketing in writing knowledge based white papers for web based support.
Duties:The experienced test engineer will use their deep knowledge of testing to help shape how we test and maintain the high quality of our products. You will take the technical test lead on a number of product releases and help drive the testing through to completion, mentoring less experienced test engineers along the way. You will write test specifications and create test cases and taking the technical lead in testing new product releases. You will work closely with the test automation team and the software developers and help ensure that we test our products efficiently and effectively. You will need to use your deep technical and test experience to mentor less experienced engineers. You will need to use your keen troubleshooting skills to identify bugs to help the software engineers fix the bug in a timely fashion. Deep knowledge of test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases and debugging need to have a debugging and testing software products to ensure quality of product.

Tester will also:
• Work as an integral part of the engineering test team to debug and troubleshoot a range of products
• Generate automated functional and load test scripts
• Manage the generation of manual test scripts and plans
• Manage performance test Windows and Web applications
• Assist marketing in writing knowledge based white papers for web based support.
Qualifications:
• Two or more years of testing experience preferred and/or two years of computing-related work experience.
• Ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of Windows, Linux and/or OS X and know how to troubleshoot problems.
• Knowledge of enterprise applications such as Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, SQL Server and Oracle is an advantage
• Some coding and scripting experience is an advantage, together with an aptitude to learn more.
• Ideal candidates will have some experience of virtualization technology such as VMWare, Microsoft™ Hyper-V, Xen and Oracle™ VirtualBox.
• Able to be work in a team-based environment, self-motivated and willing to follow through with an issue until it is completed.
Knowledge of any of the following is an advantage:
• Command line options, underlying disk structure (MBR/GPT), registry, boot mechanism and file system (e.g. NTFS, EXT2/3/4).
• Common diagnostic and troubleshooting tools for Windows and Linux, including some of the tools from Sysinternals.
• Good working knowledge of computer hardware, RAID, NAS devices (including those with Linux/SAMBA), peripherals and networking.
• Common test-automation tools and frameworks (Selenium™, HP™ QTP Borland™ SilkTest and FrogLogic™ Squish).
• Recovery environments including WinPE and Linux boot disks.
• Backup technology, including block-level backups and the VSS framework.
• Networks (DHCP, DNS, firewalls) and troubleshooting tools like Wireshark
• Remote desktop management software such as VNC, Remote Desktop and SSH.

Education:
B.S. Degree: Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience preferred and/or Associate degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience preferred
Success Metrics:
• Defining and running a comprehensive set of test cases that fully covers newly release products
• Successfully troubleshooting problems until resolution
• Actively helping to improve test efficiency and test coverage

Physical Requirements:
• Dexterity and ability to sit for long periods of time
